The Sergeons @ Studio Bar

urgeons penzance punkThe Surgeons were formed in 1980, by Pete kliskey, who was a member of Penzance's first punk band, The Cramp in 1977 (see Humphry Davy 1977 Blog Review). Having not played since 1984 we were coaxed out of retirement by Mike Sagar Fenton to appear at The Golowan Festival's 30 years of punk celebration event at The Acorn, Penzance on the 20th of June 2007, supporting The Eyelids. We were then asked to support The Damned at Falmouth Pavilions in August 2007. Since then we have played regularly, including bizarrely supporting both Stiff Little Fingers in 2008 and Sham 69 in 2009.

Pride and Prejudice

pride and prejudice cornwall julyOpen air theatre - Jane Austen. Jane Austen's most popular classic set in the rural village of Meryton follows the story of five sisters' amorous exploits. From the sweet and good natured eldest daughter Jane, down to the coquettish and petulant Lydia the whole spectrum of women's behaviour is examined in minute detail with Austen's delicate yet intense observation.

Heartbreak's fresh and contemporary adaptation from its writer in residence, David Kerby Kendall will highlight the wit, fun and absurdities of the characters. Intermingled with period dance, music and song. And our very own Mr Darcy will make you tingle with anticipation.
