West Cornwall Model Show 2010

This year will be the 4th West Cornwall Model Show to be held in St.John's Hall on 4th September, hosted by the Cornish Scale Modellers. Our club is trying to promote our show & the interest in our hobby of plastic kit modelling.

For 1 day only the best model shop in Cornwall!.Club displays, Traders, & Competitions. Admission adults £1.50, children £1.

Photography for Kids

Come and learn how to take photographs of the Cornish coastline with our expert wildlife photographer. We will photograph landscapes, flowers and some insects.

Meet in the NT car park in front of Godrevy Café (SW 584 423) at 10am. Wear warm, waterproof clothing and sensible footwear, and bring a camera (with spare batteries).

A Chorus Line

Redruth Amateur Operatic Society (Trust) presents ‘A Chorus Line’ live on stage at the Regal Theatre, Redruth. 

9th – 11th September 2010

In an empty theatre, on a bare stage, casting for a new Broadway musical is almost complete. The field’s been narrowed down to just 17 dancers. For these men and women, this audition is the chance of a lifetime.

Free Heritage Open Day Entry & Dig for Victory garden launch

Come along and explore this beautiful National Trust garden for free (including a fantastic display of scarecrows made by local school children). We're also launching our replica of a Second World War 'Dig for Victory' garden and would love you to come along if you have memories of original Dig for Victory gardens to share with us.

The Dig for Victory garden is a 10 min walk from the main garden so there'll be free tours to it on the hour, every hour till 4pm.

St. Ives September Festival

St Ives plays host to St Ives September Festival, a major two week celebration of music and the arts, bringing together a range of international artists from around the world.

The festival covers a wide range of interests including. African, Indian, ska, reggae, folk, rock, contemporary and classical. There’s also a wide variety of talks, films, poetry and literature plus open studios throughout the town.

Guldize 2010

In days gone by the Cornish people used to celebrate the end of the harvest with feasting, singing, dancing and drinking. They called this special feast "Guldize" In Penzance we still do!!!! Please join Celebrate Kernow in a night of frivolity at the Admiral Benbow Penzance. Bring instruments, dance shoes, singing voices and vegetables and harvest produce to sell as part of giant vegetables auction, proceeds to the Montol festival 2010.

Board Shorts 2010

boardshorts 2010 sennen campingBoard Shorts is an unmissable celebration of perspectives on surf culture in film, video, photography, paint, picture and craft.

This year’s event kicks off at 2pm, featuring screenings of filmmakers' work throughout the afternoon, as well as an exhibition of surf art, photos, vintage boards -- and a surf jumble too.

As night falls, a special selection of short films from Cornwall and across the globe will compete for the tile of Best of Board Shorts, awarded by our celebrity judging panel.

From 7pm there will be live music from Neil Halstead, The Tinners Ceilidh Band plus DJs Sir
Vinyl of the Fattest until late.

Overnight camping is included in the ticket price.

Get Twisted are holding there final night for the summer before the darkness closes in and the constant rain starts to fall.  Its been a busy summer for the Get Twisted DJ's with nights in all the main towns in Cornwall from Newquay to Penzance. To finish there summer of parties off they have chosen there favorite venue, the Isobar Is Dead in St Ives to hold there last big night. Expect the usual high standard of HOUSE / ELECTRO / TECH sounds to be thumbing out of the speakers provided by DJ Velso and DJ &D all night from 11 till 3.

BMX Skate Event CornwallTonkins Backyard Jam series 2010, is all about having a go. We have an Under 12s, Under 16s and an Open category. MTB or BMX. Also featuring the Longest Skid, Longest Manuel and the High Jump Comps! Prizes supplied by KONA, Protec, Vans & Plain Lazy.

The Track will open at 10am and close at 6pm. Spectator entry is free, rider entry for the day is £10, entry into the competitions is just £3.
