The festival is organised by poet and artist Bob Devereux in association with a number of Cornwall and West Country publishers.
There will be events each day during the eight days of the festival - readings, talks, workshops and performance.

Cornwall Music Academy’s open day is hosted by SilverWinds, celebrating the official opening on Saturday 1st May 2010, offering free music lessons between 10:00 am – 4:00 pm for all ages and abilities. So why not come on down and try that instrument you’ve always wanted to play.
We have a number of live bands that will be playing throughout the day, including Samba Celtica, Los Sambistas del Lizard, West Cornwall Concert Band, Truro College Jazz Quartet and various solos.

Penzance May Horns
A traditional spring festival on 2nd of May
Penzance's annual celebration of the coming of May and Summer. All are welcome but white or green clothing is a must, and the odd bit of greenery is welcome. Dont forget to bring a horn to blow or a drum to bang!
Starting at Trereife House in the Morning with the traditional May horns picnic and other suprise events.
Later on, participants gather for a procession starting at the Tolcarne Inn Newlyn at 8pm winding through the back streets, playing music and blowing horns. The evening ends with fire performances and the annual May Horns Party at the Admiral Benbow.
Battle of the Bands
Thursday nights at the Studio Bar Penzance
18 bands - 1 winner - 1 prize of £250.00 cash
The Heats start on Thursday 6th May with three bands a night.
The Semi finals begin on Thursday 5th August with the final three bands playing it out for the prizemoney on Friday 10th September

Colourful dancing through the streets. Helston Flora Day always takes place on the 8th of May with the starting around 7.30am.
The Hal-An-Tow (a story and dance by costumed performers) takes place at 8.30am. A Children's Dance at 9am.The streets and houses of Helston are specially decorated for the day.

Cornish Take Back Parliament Protest for Fair Votes For All
We are calling for a referendum on a range of PR options and Voting Reform. For the people to make the choice, for us to take back the power. We need to keep the pressure on the politicians in London to ensure we never waste a vote again.

10:00 Wharfside Car Park with the March starting at 11:00. We will then proceed through the Town Centre ending up at St Johns Hall for a series of speeches, including a delivery from Andrew George MP, and others. Media will be present, so bring banners and placards and, if possible, wear purple (the colour of the protest) to demand Fair Votes For All or Take Back Parliament.
Vintage Car Rally at Trevarno
Classic and unusual vehicles from a bygone age are set to grace the historic grounds at Trevarno this May, as the estate and gardens plays host to a series of visits by vintage car groups. On Monday 3rd May around 40 vehicles will arriving as part of the Cornwall Vintage Vehicle Society’s annual visit on their ‘Bluebell Run’. Everything from Morris Minors and Lotus Elans from the 1970s to Austin 7s and wartime cars such as the Alvis or Bristol will be on display (from 11am to 4pm) and non club-members are more than welcome to bring their own vehicles and take part in the spectacle.
The mechanical action will continue on Sunday 9th May with an inaugural visit to Trevarno by the Kernow Old Vehicle Club. Visitors will be able to check out more than thirty vehicles ranging from classic cars to tractors, postal vans, bikes, and vintage trucks, in addition to a number of stationary engines. This will be followed on Sunday 16th May with a visit by the St Piran’s Sports Car Club, whose members will be exhibiting a range of classic sports cars including plenty of much-loved Morgans.
Mad Hatters Tea Party at Poldark
Poldark Mine plays host to the annual Mad Hatter’s Tea Party. There will be strange goings on in newly revamped areas, odd tunnels to crawl through and of course, the greatest acts on earth to amaze you through the nite.
The grounds of this historic tin mine plays host to a most unique festival atmosphere which has proven to be a popular alternative to the traditional club venue. Partygoers will be treated to an Alice in Wonderland experience with entertainment across several rooms.

P1 Powerboat Championship 2010- Race 2
May 22nd to May 23rd 2010
Penzance will host round two of the P1 Powerboat 2010 season over Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd.
There will be 3 races each day on a course which will run along the Promenade about 250 metres off-shore at the closest part. Racing along Penzance Promenade will provide a superb vantage point for spectators with the beautiful Mounts Bay as a backdrop.

Powerboat P1 has added a two-day music festival onto its heavyweight entertainment bill in Penzance on May 22 and 23. In conjunction with Penzance Grand Prix of the Sea entertainment partners, The Zero Lounge and Cornwall's Coolest, SuperStock Rocks will showcase twelve of Cornwall’s most exciting upcoming bands over the weekend with the music festival complimenting the main event on the water.

The Delahays are a four-piece band based in Plymouth, on the southwest coast of England producing a unique blend of funk, hip-hop and indie tunes.
