Sea, Salts & Sail Festival

Sea Salts & Sail is a growing bi – annual festival held in the small harbour village of Mousehole in West Cornwall. It was inaugurated in 1996 by a handful of enthusiasts to celebrate the maritime heritage of West Cornwall and enliven it for todays and future generations. For those lucky enough to know or to have attended in the past it is a great taste of this salty part of the world.

Over the festival weekend the tiny harbour and village is brimming with activity. Even a force 9 southeasterly gale one year did not dampen the spirits of this hardy community, soldering on to cook food, sing songs and dance amongst the spray lashing the marquee.

Regular contributors are the local Cornish Lugger Associations, Beer Luggers from Devon, Gigs, Falmouth working boats, Male Voice choirs, bands, artists, writers, cooks and also the charms of the Kipper Man.

Horizons - Art Exhibition

The retrospective exhibition of John B Anderson’s paintings at Trereife last summer included some early landscapes. To those seeing his work for the first time this show established John Anderson as a serious and prolific painter clearly influenced by modern masters such as Picasso, Modigliani, but with an authentic modernist aesthetic of his own.
