Tanya Morgan (LIVE) @ Club 2K - Sat 15th May 2010

This will be the third Dynamite party of 2010 so far. After successful events with Souls of Mischief and Louis Logic, Dynamite have once again flown over some first-class underground hip-hop talent from the shiny USA. This time we've switched over to the East Coast, bringing together musical talent from Brooklyn, The Bronx, Cincinnati and Chicago.

* TANYA MORGAN
Despite their unique and unusual name, Tanya Morgan is indeed a true-school hip-hop group. Comprised of Cincinnati based MCs, Donwill and Ilya, and Brooklyn-bred rapper, Von Pea, the trio released their critically acclaimed debut album, Moonlighting, in 2006. While their pseudonym threw many hip-hop fans for a loop - they named the group after a fictitious woman - their down-to-earth, soulful music slowly caught the attention of various pundits. The Source magazine gave Moonlighting a 3.5 Mic rating, The Roots' ?uestlove hailed the LP as "one of the year's top 10 albums," and XXL magazine featured the album in Chairman's Choice column in 2008. They were also named in XXLMag.com's Top Ten Artists in July of the same year after the release of their EP The Bridge.
Most recently Tanya Morgan has recorded Brooklynati, an album and coinciding multi-media project released last year on Interdependent Media. Tracks from the album have been getting plenty of airplay in the UK with Sarah Love on 1xtra, and are going down very well to a live audience. The group performed at Toronto's NXNE Festival with Nouveau Riche, and the Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival with Ghostface Killah, Large Professor, Consequence, among others. Tanya Morgan is also a regular at New York's annual CMJ Festival.

* BODEGA BROVAS

Travii the 7th, who hails from Chicago, is the serious anti establishment MC in the crew. His unique delivery and world view keeps “The Brovas” grounded. Keynote, hails out of Dallas and is currently a host on the #1 night show in Dallas on 97.9 The Beat. Don’t let the radio thing fool you. Key’s rhymes are just as bizarre as his on-air persona. Last but not least there’s Headkrack, who hails from the Bronx, NY. He is currently a co-host on the nationally syndicated Rickey Smiley Morning Show. Collectively these three manage to cover the full spectrum of what’s missing in hip hop. Most importantly, FUN!
Just on the overseas buzz alone, The Bodega Brovas will have one of the most anticipated albums of 2010!

* BOODA FRENCH aka TRUTH
Support is being provided from homegrown UK artist Booda French, possibly more well known by his pseudonym TRUTH as a battle MC. Mr French also runs successful hip-hip events in East Anglia under the brand name Rapsploitation.

Dynamite resident DJ, promoter and local pin-up boy Louis J will be playing music for people to dance to. Louis has supported some of the biggest names in hip-hop with Dynamite, from Gangstarr & Wu-Tang to KRS-One and Souls of Mischief. 100% Hip-Hop!
